The Red Arrows
Officially they are the “Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team” based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. They perform all over the world representing the United Kingdom and entertain audiences with their aerobatics and precision formation flying. They have been flying the Hawk Mk1 in their distinctive red paint scheme since 1980.

E-3D Sentry
The RAF operates seven E-3D Sentry aircraft in the airborne surveillance and command-and-control role. The aircraft are based at RAF Waddington, where they are operated by Nos 8 and 23 Squadrons as the UK’s contribution to the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force. The same aircraft will take part in the Static Display.

Chinook
A Boeing Chinook will demonstrate the versatility and manoeuvrability that has made this aircraft such a valuable asset to the Armed Forces. This workhorse of the Royal Air Force with its double 60 ft diameter rotor blades is primarily used for troop carrying or underslung freight. In Afghanistan it is essential in its life saving role as an ambulance for Medical Emergency Response Teams.

 Tornado GR4
The Panavia Tornado GR4 is the RAF’s all-weather attack aircraft capable of low-level supersonic flight. Originally designed to penetrate deep into enemy airspace, it can fulfil a multitude of roles in both reconnaissance and ground attack. Recently, the Tornado GR4 has been involved in operations over Libya and continues to provide close air support (CAS) to NATO and coalition troops in Afghanistan.

Vulcan XH558
Vulcan XH558, “the Spirit of Great Britain”, was the first Vulcan B.Mk2 to be delivered to the RAF in 1960 and is now the oldest complete Vulcan in the world. XH558 was also the last Vulcan to leave RAF service, flying from 1986 to 1993 as the single RAF Display Vulcan. Its attendance will be the Vulcan’s only display in Scotland and will also mark the 30th Anniversary of the Falklands Conflict.
