Tentsmuir Forest, Fife

Materials were transported from compounds to work sites manufacturing the barrage blocks using a narrow gauge railway through the forest. During 2010, shifting sands on the dunes revealed this chassis of a narrow gauge wagon and some corrugated iron sheet which had been used in the manufacture of nearby blocks. The inscription on the plinth reads 'Time and tide wait for no man.'Tentsmuir Forest, Fife

More barrage blocks build by the Poles. Originally built at the high tide mark, the shifting coastline at Tentsmuir means some of the these structures are now underwater whilst others, like these, are now some distance inland. Some of the barrage blocks have been moved and relocated as part of a programme to address coastal erosion along parts of this coastline.
