Tentsmuir March Stone On the other side it says: “The march between the Shanwell and Old Muirs salmon fishing is a straight line from the top of Normans Law to the low water. This march stone stands in the said straight line.”

 It’s very hard to read but on one side it says:
“This stone was set up in the year 1794”
 it was erected in 1794 as a boundary marker for fishing rights. Back then it was right on the coast, but is now a little back in the woodland, as the coast has built up over the years.
